About us

Ahoy Portugal was founded in 2018 as a maritime tourist company for private boat trips through the seas of Arrábida aboard an incredible traditional wooden vessel.
In 2024 we started sailing with another traditional vessel with more capacity and we also extend our boat tours to Tagus River and Lisbon.
This project started as a partnership between friends and today is a project between brother & sister, with Rodrigo being the main captain of our vessels and responsible for sales and operations and Mariana, being a sailor and photographer on board and also the person responsible for marketing.

Our vessels

Ahoy Portugal sails with two incredible boats from 1940s.
The vessel "Pego do Altar" was built in 1943 and was one of the iconic "Galeões do Sal", vessels that transported salt along Sado river, from Alcácer to Setúbal city and other locations, having capacity for 34 passengers.
The vessel “Astrolábio" is a traditional vessel from 1949, originally built to be a Tuna Envoy, a vessel whose role would be to collect fish caught from the fishing boats and transport it still fresh to land, with capacity for 18 passengers.
These vessels have been renovated from their original functions for several decades, with their interiors having been transformed for recreational use, always taking care to maintain the elegant traditional lines of these historic vessels.
You will have available for you the entire outer deck space with mattresses to sit or lie down, a cabin inside to store whatever they need and the bathroom. At “Pego do Altar” you will also have a dining table inside.

We are specialised in exclusive boat tours!
We are your ideal partner for private events, birthday parties, hen parties, intimate ceremonies, team buildings or simply a different day just for your family and friends!
You can choose from 2-hour tours around Lisbon or 3-hour tours along the cliffs of Sesimbra to full-day tours along Tagus River or along the entire coastal region of Arrábida Natural Park & ​​Tróia Peninsula, enjoying a complete experience on board with time for meals, diving, stand up paddle boarding, snorkeling and the much desired dolce far niente.
With the boat in private mode, the crew can adapt the routes according to your wishes, as well as sailing and stopping times, always taking into account the current maritime and weather conditions.
